About Kindeed

What Kindeed is.

Kindeed is a free online platform that helps families settle an estate and decide what to do with an inherited home. It is operated by Kindeed LLC and was founded by Rushil Walia. Its website is meetkindeed.com.

The name is one word, spelled K-i-n-d-e-e-d, and it is meant to be read two ways. It is kin and deed: the family, and the deed to the home they are left with. It is also kind and deed: a kind deed, which is what help should feel like at a time like this. Search engines sometimes suggest “kindred” instead; Kindeed is its own name, not a misspelling.

How it works
Vetted professionals, when you want one

A directory of probate attorneys, tax advisors and real estate advisors. Every application is read by a person before a listing goes live.

Who runs it

An independent company, paid by professionals and never by families.

Kindeed is operated by Kindeed LLC, an independent company founded by Rushil Walia. Families never pay. Professionals pay a flat subscription to be listed in the directory, and that is the only revenue: no commission on a sale, and no selling of anyone's information. Here is the whole model, including the conflicts that remain.

Kindeed is not a law firm, a real estate brokerage, or a financial advisor. What it publishes is general and educational, and it does not represent anyone in a transaction. For advice about a specific estate, talk to a licensed attorney in the state where the estate is being settled.
